THE BRIEF

Europe and its History are an inexhaustible source of inspiration, with strong fictional potential. The appropriation of the brief and the treatment you are going to do with it must be in line with the European imaginary, which is filled with strong subjects,real or fictitious heroes and emblematic places, sometimes not much exploited in films and series.
Thanks to your original creations, this writing residency has the ambition to make this heritage shine, and to promote the creation of universal stories with an international scope.
You can choose one of the following two themes:

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
Experience
Justify experience in content creation (short or feature film, theater, novel, comic book, one man show, etc.)
Language
English must be fluent enough to be able to participate in the development workshops.
French can however be used for writing your project.
Co-written projects
Co-written projects are accepted but only one of the two authors can join the intensive 3-week residency in Cannes.

A RESIDENCY IN TWO-PHASES
Stage 1
Stage 2
18 candidates follow the online program for 2 months. They benefit from regular monitoring provided by mentors and participate in masterclasses led by industry professionals.
Immersive residence in Cannes for a period of 3 weeks (affiliated with the Cannes Film Festival).
Pitch
Pitch session in front of a jury of professionals.
Selection of the 8 finalists who will enter the residency in Cannes.
